Supporting our Students

We know that children do best when school and home work closely together. There are lots of simple ways you can support your child’s learning – from talking about their day, reading together, helping with homework, or making sure they’re ready for school with plenty of sleep and a good breakfast. We’ll keep you updated on what your child is learning and how you can help at home. If you ever have questions or need advice, we’re always here to help. Working as a team makes all the difference.

If you need to speak to Mrs Taylor, please make an appointment by contacting our school office on 01709 863622 or via our parent app.

At Denaby Main, we are committed to ensuring that every child gets the best support we can offer in order to help them to enjoy their learning, feel confident and happy and make the best progress possible.

We recognise that all children are different and that there are many factors that influence achievement and attainment.

Many children, at some time in their school career, may experience difficulties which pose barriers to learning; these may be long or short term. Not all pupils with disabilities have special educational needs and not all pupils with SEN meet the definition of disability; the policy covers all of these pupils.

Inclusion at Denaby Main aims to maximise potential for all children by supporting children’s holistic development and helping to remove barriers to achievement.  We will provide effective learning opportunities for all children based on their individual needs.

The Local Offer

The local offer provides information for children and young people with special educational needs (SEND) and their parents or carers in a single place. It shows families what they can expect from a range of local agencies, including education, health and social care. Knowing what is out there gives families more choice and therefore more control over what support is right for their children.

Further information about the local offer can be found on the Doncaster Families Information Service website by opening the following link:
